To climb the Corporate ladder you need to find a corporation that will allow for growth. Even a move laterally can make a big difference in growth. If you are at a career that will not allow growth you should move on from that company for a better chance to persue a faster growing career.
A lateral move might be the move that makes you climb the corporate ladder. If you move into a place where someone with more seniority sees you and you make a relationship with him or her you will have a better chance for growth. Sometimes a little move makes a huge difference.
